I am the project leader of Find a Fine Finnish Play program which seeks to promote the works of Finnish playwrights to American directors and theatres. This program is not an agent. It is sponsored by The Ministry of Education and Culture and The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and created by The Finnish Theatre Information Center (Finnish member of ITI).
I am happy to be invited to the conference and wish to establish a contact before 17th of June with those that would like to meet me. During a very brief meeting I would hand over to you five very succesfull Finnish plays and some material about the playwrights and the texts.
I come from a theare-loving country of just 5 million people, where 70 professional theatres sell annually over 3 million tickets -- a world record.
A Finnish play has never yet been premiered in a professional U.S. theatre. Make it happen.
I work as a resident director and the chief of the literary at Tampere Theatre. www.tampereenteatteri.fi
