
Meghan McCarthy is the Literary Manager & Resident Dramaturg for Northlight Theatre. Dramaturgy credits include The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Po Boy Tango, Grey Gardens, Gee's Bend, Better Late and The Miser (Northlight), Ski Dubai (Steppenwolf) and The Busy World is Hushed (Next Theatre). Additionally, Meghan produces and directs for Interplay, Northlight's reading series of new work. Previously she served as Program Assistant for Steppenwolf’s First Look Repertory of New Work, most notably acting as artistic liaison for “First Look 101” (an audience-enrichment series). Before Chicago, Meghan was the Artistic Associate at The Pearl Theatre Company in New York City; she served as casting director and manager of the resident company's extensive research and development programs. As a director, Meghan has helmed productions, workshops and readings in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Edinburgh, Scotlandworking with companies such as The Goodman, Steppenwolf, Chicago Dramatists and Collaboraction (Chicago) and the Women’s Project and Productions, Abingdon Theatre and The Pearl (New York). She is an Associate Artist with Chicago Dramatists and a Trustee of Caffeine Theatre. Meghan earned her MFA in Directing from The Theatre School at DePaul University and her BA in Theatre from the University of Southern California.
