
As a career coach, David Diamond works with directors, actors, designers, playwrights, dramaturgs, etc. on goal setting, strategizing and actively pursuing their careers. Projects include coordinating the La MaMa International Symposium for Directors and Playwrights' Retreat in Spoleto, Italy each summer and The Theatre in Conflict Zones Conference. He works as a mentor director to directors of theatre companies on U.S. Army bases in Europe. He was part of the U.S. delegation to the ITI Congress in Madrid. He presents the workshop, DIRECTING YOUR THEATRE CAREER to university students providing resources and advice for navigating a career in the professional theatre at Yale, National Theater Institute, Carnegie Mellon, CalArts, Fordham, and Columbia University (where he was an Adjunct Professor) among others. He served as Executive Director of Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation. He published The JOURNAL for Stage Directors and Choreographers and co-edited the Stage Directors Handbook, 1st Edition.
