Aaron Heinsman

Aaron Heinsman has served as the Annual Fund Director for DC’s Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company since February, 2008. Prior to this, he served in several capacities over 6-½ years—including Public Relations Director, Publications Coordinator, and Business Associate—at CENTERSTAGE in Baltimore, where he currently resides. His tenure there was highlighted by being named in 2005 one of "Baltimore's 20 Up-and-Comers" by Urbanite magazine. He trained as a theatrical director at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and as a theater historian/critic at University of Texas at Austin. His directing credits include works by Edward Albee, Samuel Beckett, Caryl Churchill, Yukio Mishima, and Jason Groce. He was a co-founder of the Austin Performance Ensemble and has also served on the board of theHegira: an artistic journey, a DC-based company dedicated to developing and promoting the work of women of color. An inveterate playgoer, film buff, music chart-obsessive, tennis fanatic, and truly frequent flyer, Aaron is happily a fully assimilated East Coaster, following three decades immersed in Appalachia and strewn across the Sun Belt.
